Please indulge me until Friday, July 31st 12:00 AM Midnight Central Time as I use the introductory paragraph of Sunday Brunch Reads with Social Media ReInvention to promote my nephew’s Kickstarter Campaign for his company, QuadshoX LLC.

I wrote about Johnny Morris’ spinal cord injury and remarkable story in this blog post: America’s Gutsiest CEO and His Kickstarter Project Need Your Support.

Here’s the link to QuadshoX’s inspiring YouTube video to promote its Kickstarter Campaign:

The following news organizations wrote these wonderful articles about how Johnny’s and Team QuadshoX’s Corporate Mission is to transform the American wheelchair industry:

Johnny and Team QuadshoX have a limited window to raise $96,000 for the company’s initial inventory. Please join me in financially supporting the Team QuadshoX Kickstarter Campaign and to improving the lives of 6 million+ people wheelchair bound Americans.

Your Sunday Brunch Silicon Valley Catchphrase of the Week: What we do is a game-changer.

1. Lower Case Capital: Chris Sacca’s Corporate and Marketing Strategic Analysis of What Twitter Can Be. I first learned about Chris Sacca and his amazing story when I read The Startup of YOU three years ago.  Ben Casnocha, wrote this brilliant post, How One of Twitter’s Largest Shareholders Launched His Career, describing how Chris transformed and reinvented his career when he lost his job as a Silicon Valley-based attorney.

The Chris Sacca Success Story Is Startup of YOU Hustle and Resourcefulness Personified. Forbes Magazine recently described Chris’s Midas Touch in the last nine (9) years (and an estimated $1.2 billion net worth later). Sacca and Lowercase Capital represent the New Generation of  Silicon Valley Angel Investing and Silicon Valley Senior Executive Coaching.

He represents and practices a different investing and coaching style from famed and revered Silicon Valley Executive Coach Bill Campbell.

Don’t underestimate his strategic thinking chops and go-getter heart powering his trusted advisor status within the unicorn-valuation Silicon Valley community. Chris’ analysis of how to fix Twitter is required reading if you’re someone in my position advising clients on whether or not they should (or should not) invest their most precious asset in Twitter’s real time capabilities: Time.

I studied carefully his 8,500 word analyses and recommendations. I’m going to study it again tomorrow morning while sipping my coffee.

I don’t know Chris Sacca personally. But, after a first-time read of his blog post, I DO KNOW THIS: Don’t Bet Against Chris Sacca (and Twitter).

2. Harvard Business Review: Have LinkedIn and Medium Killed the Old-Fashioned Blog? Alexandra Samuel published this thought-provoking read about the impact of long form publishing platforms like LinkedIn’s Publishing Platform and Medium versus self-publishing a self-hosted blog.

Alexandra’s piece goes beyond the standard clickbait content about “blogging is dead.” Her refreshing perspective frames her argument around the myriad of blogging platforms available (including Twitter in 140 characters or less) AND their important link to the blogger’s current and future professional career goals.

I submitted a comment to Alexandra’s article. We’ll see if she responds to it.

Linking your self-published content objectives to your professional career goals is critical (especially when a self-hosted blogging platform like WordPress is readily available).

It’s still a great time to start a blog. That’s not just my opinion. Adam Singer of The Future Buzz convinced me years ago with his analysis and opinions on self-publishing’s power and career security benefits. Plus, Adam is tons smarter than I am.

3. Trusted Advisor – Trust Matters Blog: The #1 Top Single Best Way to Get a Meeting. Charlie Green literally wrote the classic, defacto book on practicing the disciplines and skills necessary to become a Trusted Advisor. I admire and respect his work.

Complete Presentation by Charles H. Green from Trusted Advisor LLC on Vimeo.
And, in case you were wondering, Charlie generously self-publishes his thoughts, expertise, and experiences in his Trust Matters Blog. If blogging on a self-hosted site makes sense to a global, industry-wide, authority like Charlie …

Charlie’s important article demonstrates how Trusted Advisors must continuously adapt and remain open to updating our advisory skill sets. That includes practicing 21st century influence tactics so prospective clients accept our meeting requests.

I practiced the influence tactic Charlie describes. His tactic works. I used it this past Wednesday evening to lock down a Thursday morning client meeting.

Read Charlie’s article to increase your shots-on-goal. Now.
